ABOUT

Tremayne Jones M.H.S., LPC, CCTP, C-DBT; owner of Betterview Counseling and Trauma Recovery

I’ve always had an interest in how the human mind works. My first psychology courses were in high school. As I began working with families and children, I became more intrigued by the impact of childhood trauma on teen and adult behaviors. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and treat a myriad of trauma-related mental illnesses.

When I was in grad school, I began doing research on how caregiver socioeconomic status and stress directly impacts their ability to care for children with mental and behavioral issues. More specifically, how anxiety and depression has a huge impact on their ability to provide care.

I then began learning effective ways to treat anxiety and depression as these mental conditions can be debilitating for those trying to be productive. I then began studying Dialectical Behavioral Therapy as well as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing as effective ways to treat these conditions.

I founded Betterview Counseling and Trauma Recovery to do something different. I wanted to be able to use my unique skills as a school-based psychotherapist for the past 13 years to help individuals, families, and children confidently navigate through life’s hardest terrain.
